10 weeks pregnant!

How far along? 10 weeks! So unbelievably excited to be at double digits (for weeks, that is)   Baby is the size of a kumquat! (a little smaller than a lime)
Symptoms:  Fatigue is back in full swing. Back & hip pain (early I know) I think it's partly due to the way I'm sleeping. I used to be a back sleeper, but I heard once you hit the 2nd trimester you should be sleeping on your side. Also, had some light brown spotting this week. I was so scared that after the 2nd day of spotting I decided to call the doctor just to see if it was normal.  When I called to speak to the nurse she told me to come in and see the doctor. I immediately got nervous that something was seriously wrong with the baby. When I arrived there the doctor did a quick ultrasound to confirm that everything was okay.
Total weight gain/loss: Not happy about this at all..about 4 pounds! Crazy!
Maternity clothes? None yet, but I did used my belly band a couple of times this week.
Sleep:  Still going to bed early and sleeping all night! :) Sleep is glorious right now!
Best moment this week:  Being able to see our little peanut wiggling around on ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat! Boy was it fast!
Movement:   Not for a long time.
Food cravings:   Cinnamon buns, bread & oil (from Joe's), Ruffles potato chips and french onion dip
Gender:  We won’t find out until the 1st or 2nd week in December! I can't wait!
Labor Signs:  Not for a long, long time.
Belly Button in or out?  In for a while!
What I miss:   Being 4 pounds thinner :(
What I am looking forward to:   My doctor's appointment Tuesday and taking our pregnancy announcement photo for Facebook tomorrow!! I'm so excited!
Weekly Wisdom:  Calling the doctor with questions is not a bad thing!
Milestones: Baby Wilson is healthy and heartbeat is perfect!

9 weeks pregnant

How far along? 9 weeks  Baby is the size of a grape this week!
Symptoms:  This week I have welcomed headaches, gas, acne, and dizziness. I had an episode yesterday morning (Sunday 10/14) while in the shower, I began to feel nauseous and I right after I got extremely dizzy and blacked out for a minute. I didn't fall or pass out, but I was close. Very scary! After it happened I still didn't feel right so I stayed in bed pretty much the whole day.
Total weight gain/loss: I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure at least 2 pounds so far.
Maternity clothes? None yet, but I did purchase a target brand belly band and I love it! I have only used it a couple of times so far, but I have a feeling I will be wearing it with my work pants very soon.
Sleep:  Still going to bed early and sleeping all night! :) Sleep is glorious right now!
Best moment this week:  Telling a couple more of my friends and my best friend, Ashley. She received her announcement card in the mail on Saturday! She was more excited that i expected!
Movement:   Not for a long time.
Food cravings:   Ice cream, chocolate
Gender:  We won’t find out until the 1st or 2nd week in December! I can't wait!
Labor Signs:  Not for a long, long time.
Belly Button in or out?  In for a while!
What I miss:   Being able to button my favorite pair of work pants (target brand) :(
What I am looking forward to:   My doctor's appointment next week on the 23nd, and taking our pregnancy announcement photo for Facebook hopefully this week or next week( We had to postpone it due to rain).
Weekly Wisdom:  Don't take hot showers! They could result in a scary situation!
Milestones: The baby is now officially a fetus!

8 weeks pregnant!

How far along? 8 weeks.  Baby is the size of a raspberry!
Symptoms:  Not many at all surprisingly! Mild cramping, Fatigue, and skin breakouts on my face and chest! I know, I know..gross!
Total weight gain/loss: I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure at least 2 pounds so far.
Maternity clothes? None yet, but my jeans are starting to get tight! I have been using a hair tie in order to avoid unbuttoning my pants at work (again).
Sleep:  For the past few weeks I have been getting tired around 6pm and falling asleep around 8/8:30 every night. I have been getting up to pee a couple of times a night, but other than that sleep is glorious right now!
Best moment this week:  All the support I have been receiving from my husband, family, and friends (that know).
Movement:   Not for a long time.
Food cravings:   Currently, anything pumpkin!
Gender:  We won’t find out until the 1st or 2nd week in December! I can't wait!

What I miss:   Staying awake past 9 pm!
What I am looking forward to:   My next doctor's appointment on the 22nd, and taking our pregnancy announcement photo for facebook next weekend!
Weekly Wisdom:  Take a  short walk when you are feeling tired! It will definitely help!
Milestones: Hearing baby's heartbeat at 6w3d!

One year later.....

I can't believe that it will be almost a year since I've written a post on this blog. So much has happened since I stopped blogging last year! I'd like to come clean as to why I stopped blogging. The main reason why I gave up on updating is basically because I just got bored with it, and writing a blog just seemed too demanding. I also had a very small amount of followers so I figured why even bother expressing myself if nobody was going to read it.

Well.... One year later, and we have some very exciting news to share...We are expecting our first child in May! So far this experience has been a roller coaster ride of emotions. I felt as though it would be super important to document my journey not only for me, but for my son/daughter to read someday. I feel very blessed to be able to share my experiences and joys with my current followers and new followers. More updates & news to come!

2011- you and I are not friends.

Hello bloggers, Yes, I know its been awhile. Life has been insane. I have been so incredibly busy I don't even have time for myself anymore. I have been working full time and taking two graduate courses toward my teaching certification. I have also been trying to study for my last MTEL, which if I don't pass then I won't be student teaching next February. I have to admit 2011 has truly been one of the worst years of my life. Aside from the fact that I'm so lucky to have an amazing husband and supportive family, life in 2011 hasn't exactly been enjoyable. Here are a few reasons why:

First off, I've completely lost touch with my sister-in-law because all she cares about is hanging out with her boyfriend (she's 21). Her and I were always very close, but I'm finding that she is very selfish and I'm having a hard time relating to her and her lack of dedication to her family.

Ever since I said "I do" I have been growing more and more distant from my friends. I have basically lost touch with all my single friends due to the fact that all they are interested in doing is drinking and partying every weekend (and I'm  not). I have been feeling super depressed, and I essentially feel like I have nobody to turn to.

Also, I have been beyond stressed since March about school. I'm currently taking two graduate courses while working full time and it has literally been taking over my life. Since the beginning of September I have been doing homework everyday for hours, even on the weekends (when I'm supposed to be relaxing!). I'll be very surprised if I don't have a major melt down before the semester is over. I'm sure you are all aware, but in case you aren't I'm currently in a post bacc. program for an initial special education: moderate disabilities (K-8) teaching license. If all goes accordingly, and I pass my last MTEL I can student teach at the beginning of next year and I will officially be a teacher! However if I don't pass I have yet to figure out a plan B.

Then all of the sudden last month I had an issue with my car one day while leaving work. I immediately brought my car in to be checked out. The mechanic told me he thought an animal of some kind chew some wiring underneath the hood of my car. This animal ended up costing me almost 800 dollars!

Honestly, this list of horrible things just keeps getting longer and longer. I'm hoping that my life turns around soon because I don't know how much longer I can take this. I'm sorry for the "all about me" post, but I think it was helpful for me to finally get this out there.

Remembering 9/11- 10 years later

I just finished watching "Voices of 9/11" on the National Geographic channel. I was literally breathless during most of the program. I can't even imagine being a 911 dispatcher during that horrific tragedy.I think everyone
who was old enough to sincerely remember that day can say where they were,  and what they were doing when they first heard of the attacks.I never felt so American in my life.  I myself was in my 11th grade English class, and I distinctly remember a fellow classmate saying that a plane hit the world trade center. I honestly thought he was just joking. I then arrived to the my next class, Algebra ,and that was when I witnessed the second plane hit the north tower. We watched the television in shock and disbelief as our country was being attacked. I'm usually an over-dramatic person so it wasn't unusual that I had experienced a feeling of impending death upon me that day. I'm sure I wasn't the only that had that feeling. Each time I watch documentaries I just feel sick to my stomach, but I just can't look away. For some reason it just sucks me in. The tragedy and the horror of that day is as vivid as it was 10 years ago. I will never forget that day and my heart sincerely goes out to the families that lost loved ones on that momentous day in our nation's history.

God Bless America*
